Bug with staff upgrades? - Guild Wars Forums

I found an unidentified staff today, but when I identified it, there were no modifiers on it. Something similar to this has happened before so I wasn't that worried about it, but went ahead and used an expert salvage kit on it anyway, to my surprise I got a staff wrapping from it, but even more surprising was that it had no stats to it, it was just a wrapping. I found this odd enough to take a screenshot and post it here

Ah! I got one of those once as well. I think I just sold it to a merchant. I should have tried it on a staff, just to see if it really gave me a brand new Staff of Does Nothing Special.

i got a few of those in beta but yesterday i got a purple item that when identified had nothing on it. all that popped up new was the value of the item became identified.
